Marking a server 18+
- Servers with adult (18+) content must be marked 18+ when they are listed on Lyx Discovery. If Discord marks the server age-restricted, Lyx requires the 18+ mark.
- Lyx's AI review flags listings that look adult but are not marked, and Lyx staff can correct the 18+ setting. Marking a server wrongly on purpose can get the listing removed.
- Sexual content involving minors is never allowed anywhere, 18+ or not.
Who sees 18+ servers
- 18+ listings are hidden by default. They are never shown to people who are not signed in.
- To see them, you sign in, confirm your age by entering your date of birth, and turn on "Show 18+ servers". Only the result (18 or older, and when) is kept, never the date.
- If you say you are under 18, 18+ servers stay hidden on your account for 30 days.
- 18+ listings are always labelled 18+ and are never included in Lyx's public API.
Limits of the age check
Discord does not tell Lyx anyone's age, so this check relies on what you enter. Lyx does not verify identity documents. You must also meet the age requirements of Discord and of the law where you live; if you do not, do not turn on 18+ servers. The server itself is responsible for keeping its adult content in age-restricted channels, as Discord requires.
