Commands

Each action creates a numbered case, stored per server.

Hierarchy rules

Lyx refuses to act on the server owner, on itself, or on a member whose highest role is equal to or above the bot role. It also refuses when a moderator tries to act on someone ranked at or above them, unless the moderator is the owner.

This is deliberate. A bot that ignores role hierarchy is a liability.

Where cases go

Set /moderation log channel from the dashboard, or let cases fall back to the logging channel. Every case includes the action, target, moderator, reason, duration and case number.

AutoMod actions create cases too, with the bot as the moderator and the rule as the reason.

Direct messages

When DM on action is enabled, Lyx tries to tell the member what happened. Members with DMs closed cannot be reached; the action still applies and the failure is ignored.
